The Dark Universe is a shared filmic universe made by Universal Pictures.

HistoryEdit

Dracula Untold was released in 2014, originally intended to be the first entry in a cinematic universe rebooting Universal's monsters franchise. However, after flopping, The Mummy was announced, intended to be the official first film in the universe.[1] In May 2017, the Dark Universe was announced, along with future films including Bride of Frankenstein, as well as a film featuring the Invisible Man.[2] However, later that year, after The Mummy underperformed at the box office, Bride of Frankenstein was pulled from pre-production and from Universal's release schedule, the script to be worked on.[3]
